There’s a world of difference in Tenerife
With its many different climate zones, Tenerife is like a mini continent.
Drive up towards Mount Teide and in just a few miles you will pass through several climate zones on your way to the 12,194ft summit of the highest mountain in Spain.
The peak of Teide (spanish: Pico del Teide), now a dormant volcano, is surrounded by the wild and rugged landscape of the Las Cañadas volcanic crater, some 30 miles in circumference.
From November to April, Teide is frequently capped by snow so anyone planning a trip there during these winter months should make sure they wear suitable clothing.

Island of Tenerife / Spain, geographical and political situation
Tenerife is one of seven major and six smaller islands in the Atlantic Ocean that make up the Canaries archipelago. Four islands, Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro, form the Spanish province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and the six smaller islands of Alegranza, Graciosa, Montaña Clara, Los Lobos, Roque del Este and Roque del Oeste make up the Las Palmas province.
Together, the two provinces form the autonomous region, Islas Canarias.
The Spanish mainland is some 1,300km from Tenerife, while Morocco and the coast of Africa is barely 300km distant.
