El puertito is soon to be a protected environment. the team of the NGO Oceano Sostenible is working in the area and they have cleaned all the bay area. It is now a nice area to dive to see see turtles. 4 of them are actually in the area. The NGO is working closely with a Scuba diving center, it is the Ocean Dream's Factory. They operate with the NGO and tehy have created the first ecoturistic excursion in Spain. it is a first dive in open water, in the Bay of El Puertito in Adeje, during the dive, an instructor is always over the diver, helping him to flyover the sub acuatic landscape, we start very slowly to get use to the mask and then go down progressively. The dive is lasting 20 to 25 minutes, The team assigns you a small task to help the control of the area (counting designed species or vegetals), if the sea is clear, you will receive the visit of a turtle or two, it is a fantastic experience to see this incredible animal with it's big eyes come at 10 cm of your face, waow. The area is now with a nice population of sea horses and all kind of Pisces. The best is that all profits are reinvested in helping protecting the oceans, thru research, education and knowledge speading.
