Granadilla,
an important administrative centre of tenerife
 Granadilla de Abona is the administrative centre for Reina Sofía airport (Tenerife Sur) and the surfing centre of El Médano.
Also included within its boundaries are the towns and villages of San Isidro, El Cabezo, Castro, Los Abrigos, Charco del Pino, Montaña de Yaco, El Salto, and Los Llanos.
Within the municipality is the mountain of Guajara, at 2,718m the second highest on the island after Teide.
Few holidaymakers stop here, probably deterred by the desert-like landscape, but they miss out on a pretty little town of steep and winding streets.
The municipality's mountainous region is part of the Corona Forest Nature Park, which includes an area of strange rock formations known as the Paisaje Lunar, or lunar landscape.
The town itself has the notable churches of Iglesia San Antonio and the Convent San Francisco.
