Puerto de Santiago |
Puerto de SantiagoSmall is beautiful
Puerto de Santiago, or simply just Puerto Santiago, is one of the quieter resorts on the island and is perfect for a relaxing break.
Once just a small fishing village, the march of progress has blurred the boundaries between it and its bigger neighbours, Los Gigantes to the north and Playa de las Arenas to the south.
Puerto Santiago still retains much of its old world charm and sophistication. Here, small really is beautiful.
One of the best black sand beaches anywhere on the island is to be found here. It's not a big beach and there are bigger stretches of sand at each of its two bigger neighbours.
Puerto Santiago has a sea-front promenade, many excellent small restaurants and though it doesn't suffer from the tourist hordes you can still find plenty to do, such as boat trips out to see the dolphins that gather around the island, or try your hand at sea-fishing.
