Bizarre volcanic landscape and a lot more to discover

The massive volcanic eruptions left their mark on the landscape of the mountains and shorelines of the isle of Tenerife. Climes and attractions on Tenerife

By the different climes Tenerife is like if it would be a small continent. Within a few minutes, anyway one comes from a climatic zone by car into the next one. So for example it can happen that you start from the Puerto de La Cruz in the north of the island with cloudy weather and you drive in direction to Bajamar or Tacoronte, only a few kilometers, and you will find sunshine there. Santa Cruz bids to be European Capital of Culture

Spain has been designated to provide the European Capital of Culture in 2016 and already a dozen cities, including the Tenerife capital of Santa Cruz, are lining up to compete for the glittering prize. Also battling for the coveted nomination will be the mainland cities of Cordoba, Cuenca, Cáceres, Burgos, Tarragona, Pamplona, Zaragoza, Segovia, Valencia and Alcalá de Henares.
