Bizarre volcanic landscape and a lot more to discover

The massive volcanic eruptions left their mark on the landscape of the mountains and shorelines of the isle of Tenerife. The colour palette of the isle is dominated by the black lava sand, some ocher coloured sand beaches and a deep green of the varied vegetation. Tenerife is the biggest of the Canary Islands. 80 km long and up to 50 km wide. The surface area of the Island is 2.034,38 km². Tenerife is a volcanic island, situated infront of coast of Morocco and the Western Sahara. 1300 kilometers distanced from the Spanish mainland. The climate is very mild and pleasant all over the year. In the most sunny month of the year is July with an average of 10.6 hours of sunshine a day. There highest temperature with 25 °C are reached in the month of August. The water temperature reaches the highest temperature of 23°C in September and October. Ferry service to link Tenerife and Madeira

A ferry service linking Tenerife with Madeira starts up again on June 16, providing a weekly service between the two islands for the duration of the summer. A new addition to the Naviera Armas fleet, the Volcan de Tamadaba, will operate the service. The new vessel, due to come into service in May, will be one of the biggest, fastest and most modern in the company’s fleet, with a top speed of 24 knots and a payload of up to 1,000 passengers and 500 cars. The ship will sail from Santa Cruz on Saturday evenings at 10.30pm, arriving at Funchal, the capital of Madeira, at 8am on Sunday morning.
