Riikka to defend Tenerife golf title

The island of Tenerife stages the first tournament of the 2007 Ladies European Golf Tour from May 3-6.

The Tenerife Ladies Open has been an annual feature on the tour calendar for six years.

This year’s event, at Golf Del Sur, San Miguel de Abona, carries a prize fund of nearly £200,000.

Last year’s winner, 29-year-old Riikka Hakkarainen from Finland, is set to defend her title from a field of 126 competitors.
