Ferry service to link Tenerife and Madeira

A ferry service linking Tenerife with Madeira starts up again on June 16, providing a weekly service between the two islands for the duration of the summer.
A new addition to the Naviera Armas fleet, the Volcan de Tamadaba, will operate the service.
The new vessel, due to come into service in May, will be one of the biggest, fastest and most modern in the company’s fleet, with a top speed of 24 knots and a payload of up to 1,000 passengers and 500 cars.
The ship will sail from Santa Cruz on Saturday evenings at 10.30pm, arriving at Funchal, the capital of Madeira, at 8am on Sunday morning.
The return journey will see the vessel leaving Funchal at 7pm on Sundays, arriving back in Santa Cruz at 10am on Monday morning.
