Red nose for Tenerife flight

Red Nose Day is reaching all the way to our fair island of Tenerife.

First Choice Holidays, one of this year’s sponsors of the annual mammoth charity fund-raiser, has given two of its Boeing 757 aircraft special paint jobs to promote the Comic Relief effort in the run-up to Red Nose Day on Friday March 16.

One of the Boeing 757s, sporting a shiny red nose, made its first flight in its new livery from Manchester airport to Tenerife.

The two aircraft will fly thousands of passengers between the UK and their holiday destinations.

As well as repainting the planes, First Choice Airways is getting its cabin crew to wear red noses to promote the event to passengers.

This includes getting them to dig deep into their pockets to find all the loose change they don’t need to help the charity drive reach record levels in 2007.

Passengers are also being treated to comedy highlights from previous Red Nose Days, featuring stars such as Lenny Henry, Eddie Izzard and Ricky Gervais, in the in-flight entertainment.

Since it began, Comic Relief has raised more than £425 million, a massive £355 million of it raised through Comic Relief’s 10 Red Nose Days.
