Travel experts choose Tenerife

ABTA, the Association of British Travel Agents, is to hold its annual Travel Convention in Tenerife this year.

The event, one of the biggest on the calendar for those work in the travel industry, will have a new look this year, with the 2007 convention taking place exactly ten years after Tenerife last hosted it.

The three-day convention will be held at the Magma Art and Congress Centre in Costa Adeje and is expected to attract around 400 travel agents from across the UK, who will be hosted by principal tour operators and suppliers.

Some of the sessions at the convention, which takes place from November 28-30, will be hosted by the television presented and journalist Jeremy Vine.

Justin Fleming, ABTA’s President said: “We are delighted to be coming back to Tenerife a second time.

“Our last Convention on the island was one of our most successful. The mix of the facilities, hotels and night life, together with the island’s popularity as a year-round holiday favourite, combine business with a destination that means so much to what we do.“
