Isle of Tenerife

Los Abrigos, Tenerife

Famous for its night market

Los Abrigos may only be a small fishing village but it can lay claim to being the only place on the island to hold a night market.

The market takes place on Tuesday evenings between 6-10pm.

The village, as one might expect, is home to a number of small restaurants who specialise in the fruits of the sea.
Los Abrigos also has a fine promenade and small harbour.

The village’s annual fiesta in September is a colourful occasion, when the fishing boats are decked out with bright lights for the carnival parade.

The fiesta has a reputation for staging one of the most spectacular fireworks displays on the island – and anyone who knows Tenerife will understand how stiff the competition is!

Windsurfing and diving are among the items on offer for the more active visitor.
